All performers suffer from nerves to some degree. This problem is, in part, the consequence of a sensitive and artistic temperament. You don't have to let the situation control you. Here are some tips on how you can walk on that stage with confidence and perfection.

1. Practice, practice and practice. Make sure you practice your part again and again before the start of the show.

2. Do deep breathing exercises to calm down yourself if you're nervous. Breathe in and out frequently, imagine your lungs as a tire around your body expanding and contracting on the back and sides of your torso, not just the front.

3. Avoid rushing or being distracted before the start of the event. Rushing may actually lose your self-confidence.

4. Do not be afraid of your audience, imagine that you are the master of your presentation. If you lack of self-confidence, then your whole presentation is totally destroyed. The best suggestion is to know your points to reduce your anxiety.

5. Think positive. During the real day, make your show a celebration and not a practice. It is always a "NOW or NEVER".
